Taking care of electric guitar?

I bought a copy les paul double cut away guitar that has the blue see through finish where you can see the wood pattern and chrome hardware. I normally dont really clean my guitars that i had in the past because i just like to play. But im kinda worried about this one. Will sweat ruin the finish the guitar and the chrome hardware?
